Responsibilities
Technical Support
- Ensure accurate, reliable, and high-availability data transfer to cloud-based servers.
- Provide expertise in SureWx equipment and data collection systems, including troubleshooting and delivering solutions during European hours.
- Lead remote troubleshooting, repair, calibration, and upgrade activities.
- Analyze sensor and station performance, identify trends, predict issues, and implement mitigation actions.
- Support operations globally, maintaining knowledge of industry-leading weather sensors and related technology.
- Utilize ticketing systems and knowledge base platforms to effectively track and resolve technical issues.
Station Maintenance
- Efficiently manage maintenance and upgrade work, handling unexpected delays.
- Order and arrange shipments of parts and equipment.
- Develop and improve maintenance procedures, training materials, and documentation.
- Manage preseasonal work, including maintenance, component changes, hardware/software/firmware upgrades, remote calibrations, and bench testing.
- Establish and manage a spare parts strategy for quick issue resolution during winter operations.
- Maintain all station-related hardware, inventory and records.
- Track maintenance, repair, and calibration history for individual stations, sensors, and equipment.
Service Providers - key
- Maintain strong relationships with local service providers, sourcing and training new ones as needed.
New Installations
- Conduct site selection analysis based on weather patterns, topography, and installation requirements.
- Provide logistical support for new installations.
- Develop training materials and establish contracts with local service providers.
- Oversee new installation startup, ensuring valid, reliable data transmission.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in progressively responsible technical roles.
- Willingness to travel as needed (travel expenses covered by the company).
- EU citizenship preferred to facilitate equipment management and shipments.
- Strong technical skills with proven ability to maintain high-reliability systems.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Experience in maintenance best practices, plan development, and execution.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with a creative approach to problem-solving in multidisciplinary systems.
- Solid understanding of instruments, schematics, wiring standards, AC/DC power, mechanical components, hardware standards, data communication, and remote data collection.
- Deep operational mindset and a commitment to high standards of operational excellence.
- Experience managing contractors and suppliers effectively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, terminal emulators, knowledge base systems, and ticketing systems (such as Confluence and Jira).
- Fluency in English required; additional European languages preferred.

- Aviation or Weather Science curiosity
- Independent, resourceful, and persistent in identifying root causes and resolving issues.
