Are you an experienced IT security profile with an interest in compliance? Can you help set the direction and shape the future information security strategy for one of Scandinavia’s largest retailers? Then you might be the Senior Cybersecurity Specialist we are looking for to join the Salling Group HQ in Aarhus.
...
Salling Group is a leading retailer, the biggest in their field in Denmark, and among the best in Europe. The business is fast-paced, and Salling Group sets the bar sky-high when it comes to innovation and following technology and sustainability trends in the retail industry. Cyber and information security is high on the digital agenda and strategy, and the Senior cybersecurity specialist thus holds a crucial responsibility in the company. You will join a company that invests in their employees by offering educational programs and courses, and by ensuring a healthy working environment across all departments.
the role
As Senior Cybersecurity Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring that Salling Group’s information assets are protected in accordance with all policies, controls, industry standards, and frameworks. You will take part in the development, implementation, and maintenance of an information compliance program encompassing all aspects of the organization's information management lifecycle. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and compliance knowledge to effectively manage and mitigate security risks. Working in a smaller team, you will have the opportunity to engage with a wide range of areas and responsibilities.
Your tasks and responsibilities:
• Develop, implement, and maintain security policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
• Collaborate closely with technical teams to ensure compliance measures are effectively implemented and maintained.
• Work with IT and security teams to design and deploy secure systems and networks.
• Communicate cybersecurity risks and compliance requirements to business stakeholders.
• Conduct regular compliance assessments to identify and remediate compliance gaps.
• Train and educate employees on cybersecurity compliance requirements.
• Respond to regulatory inquiries and audits to support the Legal Department.
• Maintain compliance documentation and records.
• Research and apply relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards to the organization's information systems and practices.
• In collaboration with the team, drive security and compliance initiatives across Salling Group, including Denmark, Poland, and Germany.
You will report directly to the CISO. Travel activities to other locations may occur, but infrequently.
your profile
We imagine that you have experience from a similar position in IT, cybersecurity, or compliance. We appreciate a theoretical background, but your experience and skills are more important. Perhaps you hold a technical role today, but would like to work more dedicatedly with compliance and influence the direction of security initiatives.
You enjoy paying attention to details, analyzing complex information, and you are able to work independently as well as part of a team. We expect you to be self-motivating and able to seek out solutions to differing issues and challenges.
To succeed in this role, good communication and interpersonal skills are required as you will meet many stakeholders across the organization.
We also expect that you can tick some or most of the below boxes:
• Experience with cybersecurity frameworks such as ISO 27001, ISO 27002, PCI DSS, NIS2, and CIS18.
• Ability to work effectively with technical teams to ensure compliance measures are practical and effective.
• Experience in implementing, operating, and maturing cybersecurity compliance with relevant frameworks, standards, and regulations.
• Technical knowledge of IT- or cybersecurity and privacy principles.
• Able to interpret and apply complex compliance requirements.
• Experience with technical security controls and incident response.
• Strong team player who can foster a collaborative environment and encourage open communication to achieve compliance and security goals.
