job description
As Cloud Architect, you will join the Cloud Centre of Excellence, part of the Norlys Shared Service Centre. You will join a team of ten, comprising seven cloud engineers and two IAM specialists that collaborate closely, both internally and externally with other departments.
Your main responsibilities will be to support the business in delivering new cloud solutions and help them move from idea to operations. This includes the delivery and design of the architectural landscape, advisory, testing, developing and standardizing the Norlys cloud solutions and services. Norlys has undergone a transformation and as part of the shared service center, you will take part in delivering state of the art, secure and compliant cloud solutions for several departments across the organisation. Your responsibilities will be divided between service deliveries and assisting in a smooth systems and cloud transition related to Norlys’ recent acquisition of Telia.
You will report to the Head of CCOE, whose leadership is characterized by flexibility, freedom, responsibility delegation, and succeeding as a team.
Responsibilities include:
• Design and build cloud infrastructure and solutions, including new architectures for various application landscapes
• Quickly understand and integrate new cloud technologies into roadmaps and future capabilities
• Build and manage cloud services, ensuring that they are operated effectively to deliver value
• Support the transition to a next-generation cloud future with agile and automated delivery and operating models
• Take an active leadership role in determining overall cloud infrastructure and technology, participating in extensive architectural discussions
• Transform business needs into specific requirements and provide architectural advice throughout project phases
• Communicate technical solutions clearly to business stakeholders and senior leadership, articulating the future cloud strategy
• Collaborate with the team and partners to build capabilities based on modern IT service paradigms
• Ensure that new systems and platforms fit into the overall landscape and strategy, identifying further improvements for stability and scalability
• You will work with a tech stack including Microsoft Azure, Terraform, Kubernetes, Ansible, Git, Azure DevOps, and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC)
We are looking for two profiles to join the team. Norlys offers high flexibility, and you can work from almost anywhere in Denmark, with affiliation to the most nearby Norlys office.
are you norlys' next cloud architect?
We imagine that you have several years of experience with cloud development and/or architecture, preferably from an enterprise organisation or a consultant role, advising large organisations on cloud solutions.
We appreciate a sound theoretical foundation in infrastructure, computer science, data or IT technician or similar, but it is your personality, accomplishments, and skills that we value the most.
You can tick some of the following boxes:
• Minimum 5-10 years’ experience with cloud architecture in Microsoft Azure and IaC
• The ability to combine best practice technical design and development with business needs and priorities
• Experience with transitioning/transforming on-premise workloads to cloud
• Relevant Azure certifications or open to study for those
• Understanding of infrastructure (storage, network, server) and sound DevOps practices
• Preferably, you have experience with cloud security/compliance and monitoring
As a person, you have an agile mindset and a can-do attitude. You like taking charge while making sure your colleagues and team are in the loop. You are engaging and collaborative, can lead through others and focus on functional expertise both within cloud design and execution. Your assignments will gain high attention, and because you will work with stakeholders across the business and IT organization, it is important to have great communication and stakeholder management skills as well as business acumen.
